GOSH Cosmetics, The Stardust Range, Million Stars Review, Nail Lacquer. Shimmer Baby!!!

I haven't done a beauty post in a while, its so long over due.  GOSH are a fantastic high street brand of cosmetics.  Their range is ever increasing and become very glamorous.

I recently tried out GOSH Nail Lacquer. The Stardust Range is part of the AW14 collection.

They all have the Pearly, Shimmer, Shiny Finish.  I have to say the range so stunning, I love sparkle and these are little beauty pots of sassy fun.

Easy to apply, not runny or gloopy, each coat dried to the touch within 5 minutes, I applied 2 even coats. Its a great smooth finish.

I used the 631 Million Stars, the base colour is Slate Blue, with beautiful shimming purple and bright blue tones.  I love it.

I've been wearing it for 3 days, no chips so far (I am also wearing a Top coat) 8ml bottles RRP at £3.99 a very good price indeed.  Can be purchased in Superdrug and available online GOSH Nail Lacquer

Thank you looking, dont be shy say Hi!

My Honey (Minion) Cake

Over Christmas and New Years Me and my youngest were super ill. Such a shame as I had to cancel my sons birthday.

My older sister suggested we have a family get together at hers and celebrate.  She the greatest, it makes since too as all my family live very close together in West London.  I'm the only one who lives faraway.

A lovely friend of mine Renna, recently gave me a pot of Haughton Honey.  Honey can be used for all sorts, personally I use it on toast, in sandwiches, I love a lemon tea, occasionally to glaze my roast carrots, I'm not that overly adventurous.  As I am trying to be healthy, I wanted to make something special. So a honey cake had my interest.

  • 250g clear honey, plus about 2 tbsp extra to glaze
  • 225g unsalted butter
  • 120gdemerara sugar
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 300g self-raising flour

Put the cooker on gas make 3, grease proof a 20in (loose bottom) cake tin.

On a low heat cook the butter, sugar and honey together. Once all the sugar has dissolved and the butter melted, the liquid will run clear, keep stirring until it does. Then bring everything to boil for one minute.  Then leave to rest/cool down off the ring for 20 minutes.

Sift the flour in a large mixing bowl, add the eggs and the cooled down honey mixture, mix together with a wooden spoon. The cake mixture will be runny once done.

Pour the cake mix into the cake tin, place in the oven for 1 hour. - well after 40 minutes the cake had risen, looking good but getting brown on one side. So I spun the cake around and turned the cooker down to 2. I let it cook some more, about another 20 minutes.

I took the cake out, it looked cooked but it was still very wet at the bottom, I could feel it.  I flipped it over (poor cake - and rubbish oven) cooked for another 20 minutes.

Finally cake done.  Springy to the touch, my house smells divine.   The cake had a heavy/soft texture. I cut in half, added cream and mixed in grated chocolate for it filling.

I decorated my cake as a naughty minion.  After an hour he was born and popped out of sight and hidden from little hands and eyes.

My son was over the moon when he saw his cake.  He had the biggest slice and wanted more.  I have never eaten or even made a Honey Cake before.  It was lovely, the honey come through, its not over powering, no sticky.  The cake mixture isn't gooey either. Nice and firm. Sweet honey flavour come through.

I say if you want to try something different go for it, if it goes wrong dont worry, style it out!

HELLO its 2015!

I've had a massive blogging break (block).... more like fallen off the radar, like a little star that has burnt out.  Well, I'm burning again!

I hope all my followers are all well and happy. Wishing everyone a great 2015.

This year I purposely didn't write up New Years Resolutions, not wanting to disappoint myself however, I have set myself a few goals.

1) Get Fit - Thats very vague but I want to start training again. This will be my heaven, the start is always hard, not having the energy and motivation but once started I usually feel great, the endophins rushing throught my head, waking my body, making it easy to continue my journey.

2) Getting a Job - I'm terrified and excited. Now my youngest is at school full time, its definitely time to get myself sorted.  I'm not 100% sure where is start, what I want to do, full time or part time.  My back ground is the Hotel Industry, I've been lucky enough to work for some exceptional names in the business.  So I'm not sure what to do, maybe something new.  I doubt I will be traveling into London, its too far, travel is too expensive.  Living so close to Watford, fingers crossed there is something suitable and perfectly matched for a loyal hard working individual like me.

3) Write More! - Since I started blogging I call myself 'Not a natural writer'.  There are times I find it hard to put pen to paper, the ideas and inspiration don't just flow.
I like to feel passionate about the things I write, when I feel ignited, I'm off like a little fire burning away.

4) Fix my bike... Actually nag my boyfriend to fix a bike he found.  Its a lovely looking ride, it needs a few new bits and some love before its ride-able.  Would be great to get around town.  I hate wasting money on the bus.

So here is to 2015...  I will continue to be me!
