Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park kicks off its 2016 announcements with exciting news. I know a few of my friends will be over the moon! As one of the world’s most successful live pop bands in living history >>> Take That will perform in London’s historic Hyde Park for the very first time, YIPPEE!! Take take will following in the footsteps of some of music’s most illustrious stars that have graced the Great Oak Stage, in the heart of London.
Since 2013, Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park has hosted some of the biggest and best live acts. From The Rolling Stones to Neil Young, The Libertines to The Who, Kylie, Black Sabbath to Taylor Swift, music history has been written almost night by night.
Take That - If someone would have told us in 1991 ‘hey guys in 24 years you’re going to be playing at one of the most famous parks in the world’, I probably wouldn’t have believed whoever said it. We are thrilled to have been invited to headline Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park. The atmosphere will be amazing, I know that between us and the audience, there’s going to be an incredible energy."

Take That live shows have become works of art in themselves and the band are sure to bring their unique and unrivalled production to the Royal Park.  Their recent ‘Take That Live 2015’ Tour sold out arenas around the world this year, including 10 nights at London’s O2 Arena and performing to over half a million. Take That are defined by some of the most memorable and spectacular live productions in music history and this show will certainly be no exception. Concertgoers are assured an unforgettable evening of live entertainment.

Take That have had seven UK Number One albums, 12 UK Number One singles, sold over 45 million records, won six Ivor Novellos, eight BRITs and sold over seven and a half million concert tickets in their lifetime.
Formed in 1990 as a five piece, they took the world by storm, with songs including ‘Relight My Fire’, ‘Everything Changes But You’ ‘Could It Be Magic’, ‘Pray’ and A Million Love Songs, becoming part of the UK’s songbook.  By the time Robbie Williams left to pursue a solo career in 1995, phone lines had to be set up to counsel distraught fans.  Classic anthems Never Forget and ‘Back For Good’ marked his departure.  In 2005, they returned as a four piece to huge acclaim, reaching national treasure status before welcoming Robbie back for 2010’s Progress album and a tour that broke records by selling out eight nights at Wembley Stadium.  Now, with Jason Orange moving on, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen have again successfully re-invented themselves as a three piece.

The album ‘III’ went straight to Number One at the end of 2014, marking another poignant moment in the band's legacy. The album includes their most recent hits including ‘Get Ready For It' written for the blockbuster movie Kingsman and No.1 hit 'These Days'.

In the last few weeks, the band unveiled their new track ‘Hey Boy’ in an exclusive performance on TFI’s series opener on Channel 4.  The song breaks new ground for Take That with chunky 80s synths and a huge chorus; the track was produced by Greg Kurstin whose previous work includes production credits for Ellie Goulding, Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey and most recently Beck’s epic ‘Dreams’. The Song features alongside three new studio tracks on the band’s Take That - III - 2015 Edition which also includes the live DVD of their most recent UK tour Take That Live 2015 giving fans a front row perspective to relive the spectacular.

Take That are a fitting presence in the pantheon of Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park, which hits its fourth year in 2016, firmly established as the essential London summer event.
