Happy little Scoffers! Real Ready made children's meals, Miniscoff Review

I had a very healthy up bringing.  I grew up right in the heart of West London, Fulham, 2 minutes walk away from North End Road Market.  My mum would bring home bags of fresh produce, she does not believe in junk food, fast foods, ready made meals. It would be a rare thing to have frozen chips or a tin of Heinz soup.

I remember my childminder, she would feed me all types of packet foods, that would annoy my mum.  But life can be challenging and not everyone can cook or has time on their hands.  Over the last 30 years life styles have changed both parents are working longer hours and lets not forget the invention of the microwave.   Conveniences is key! However there has been a dramatic turnaround, we are a Nation of healthier eaters. People are living longer, everyone appears to be watching their weight, counting calories and most of all everyone is wanting the best for their children.
We are environmentally conscience, wanting locally sourced produce, organic foods and fresh.

So it gives me great pleasure to introduce Miniscoff!!!

Miniscoff's is an award winning ready hand made meals and sauces for children.

Food Facts:

What they use!

100% organic ingredients
(approved by the Soil Association; this organic standard is among the highest in the world )

  • Premium cut meats from only the best British producers
  • Locally sourced vegetables wherever possible
  • ALL the love and attention you'd put in if you made it yourself
This is all real food, NO preservatives, NO artificial additives, NO JUNK!

Miniscoff pride themselves from start to finish, their dishes are cooked in small batches, by actual people >> chefs NOT machines. As soon as the food is cooked its frozen, this lock in the goodness, keeping the meals fresh, the flavour & texture true to a home made cooked meal!

I have to say the food is dynamite; the very first thing I noticed as soon as I slide the dishes out of their boxes is the immaculate presentation, it looks like I've cooked it even thou its frozen. The pasta dishes looks fantastic, the rice dishes look tasty, the potato dishes look fresh.  The portion sizes are perfect for little tummies.

The same as the majority of ready meals, Miniscoff can be heated up in the oven or mircowave.  I use the oven method, I do not own a microwave.  The cooking instructions are easy to follow. Most dishes are ready to eat in 25 minutes. (or 6 mins pinged in the mircowave)

The packaging is bright and clear, catches my attention and my little people are very curious by the cute imagines on the boxes.

I'm amazed is the ingredients! Its reads like its been cooked at home. No E numbers, only real food and seasoning.

Miniscoff have a fabulous range of ready meals.
These are cute catching little names, that children remember.  I was sent a lovely selection of meals.
Ali Baba's Shepherd's Pie & Salmon Ocean Pie, Curly Wurly Chicken & Broccoli Bills Pie, Creamy Salmon Pasta & Chilli Yum Yum.

I tasted each of the dishes, they all had tasted delicious, light in seasoning. The mash potato dishes smooth and fluffy, the salmon pie has a good few massive pieces of salmon, really creamy sauce.  Broccoli Bills Pie has a fantastic cheesy creamy sauce with nice pieces of fresh broccoli. The meat dishes have a smooth texture, all easy to eat not lumpy.

I have two happy mini customers which I'm delighted with.  I know I can buy a ready made meals that are freshly made, organic, healthy, taste great, that my boys really enjoy, no preparation to prepare and ready to eat in no more the 6 minutes (microwaved)

What are you waiting for? Kids, mummies & daddies will SCOFF the lot!

These meals can be found in stores however they can be delivered via Ocado being charged at a very reasonable £3.50 per meal. This may seem more expensive then other brands but remember this is real, quality British produce, meals!

I would like to thanks Shoo & Angus Oliphant the founders of Miniscoff a super wife & husband team who know how to look after our kiddies tummies

This is an unsponsored I was given the meals to review, these are my honest opinions

Snuggle-up with Snuggledown's Back Sleeper pillow Review

Snuggledown sent me a Back Sleeper pillow for me to review.

Snuggledown is a luxury bedding brand part of the John Cotton Group, the company dates back to 1901 based on Norway.  I bet the nights are cold and long there. However with over a century of expertise in the industry, Scandinavians have been sleeping cosily.

Leaders of quality duvets and pillows, they are renown for using the finest of materials sourced from around the world for superior quality.

For the past few weeks I have been fortunate to test their medium filled Back Sleeper pillow.

This is a lovely plump pillow with a double edged.  Making the edges and the sides of the pillow wider then a standard pillow.  For a firmer more comfortable sleep, supporting my neck as the pillows filling is deeper at the edges.

I tend to sleep on my back, the pillow lays comfortably under my head and neck giving my head a firm lift.  It feels delicate under my head, most importantly my neck is laying in comfort.  My head is slightly more lifted then what I am used too.  I can really feel the difference, it feels great, reminds me of luxury 5 star hotel pillows. My head is not berried in softness and I can get up without being sucked into my pillow.

A little bit of back ground about me, I usually sleep very well.  I can get very hot (not since I changed my duvet) I have been told by my beloved boyfriend I break out in snore.  Which to be honest I do not believe.  haha I'm a lady.  He says its not loud and not often but I wake him.  So much to our surprise I have not woken him up once in the last few weeks.  I am guessing because my head to higher I am not laying back with my mouth open.

The Snuggledown medium filled Back Sleeper pillow can be found mainly online, from £12-15. I found them stocked at BHS and Amazon. Online links

  • Medium Depth Pillow
  • Machine Washable @ 40°C
  • 240 Thread Count, 100% Cotton Cover
  • Polyester Clusterfibre Fill
  • Non Allergenic

I am pleased to say I have been having sweet dreams, I hope you and your loved ones can get a decent nights sleep its so important to rest our bodies.

We our having a heatwave next week and I hope to be sharing a treat with you, next week... Watch this space.

This is an unsponsored post, I had been given the pillow to review!

Our first time as LolliBoppers! Lollibop review 2013

I just got back from LolliBop!
J says Lolly Pop

My feet are crying, not that I walked there but 3 hours on the tube there and back is a massive adventure. I say that loosely as the adventure starts when we arrived at LolliBop.

I am lucky my boys are used to walking, it took about 15 minutes to walk from Stratford underground station to The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.  A little walk pass Westfield Stratford City then we passed The famous Olympic Stadium (we were there just a few weeks back)

We were met and greated by lots of smiley faces. My sons eyes were on stalks darting forward just ready for everything and anything.

We had not been before, I was not too sure what to expect. I had hoped to arrive very early and miss the afternoon rush however we arrived about 11.45 it was very busy however this would not spoil our day.

Today was a real treat for us, we have not had a holiday and I promised my sons as long as they behaved they could choose what they did and where we went.

Lots of mini areas with stands and shows to be seen.  The first request, to get their little faces painted.  They wanted bad piggies and angry birds.  So off we went.  I have never seen so many face painters all at once a huge marque, we queued for no more then 10 minutes.  There was a list of what was possible, no angry birds or bad piggies, we settled for Spiderman & a dinosaur.  The girls worked so fast in transforming my little angels, they both looked so cute afterwards and were really pleased. Now J told me he was ready to party.

J was hellbent in making a beeline for the Skylanders arena (not really in the party mood then), it was fairly big arena with a lots of demo stations for the name game; Skylanders Swap Force. However it being so busy, lots of adults as well as kids playing, my sons could not get a look in at the game.

I could hear Justin Fletcher in the back ground, grabbed my sons and tired to catch the main man in action.  Ever since my boys started watching telly, Justin has been in there lives.  Mr Tumble is a family favourite even thou J is 5 he still stops whatever he is doing watches Mr Tuumbbble.
Justin was awesome, his show was none stop, singing songs, packed with my little giggles and lots of actions songs for the little ones to join in with.  I am totally impressed.  Best of all my boys loved it they forgot how shy they were and sang the hokey pokey and heads, shoulders, knees and toes to name a few.  Justin was full of energy from start to finish.

Now for something unusual the Transformers Optimus Prime Truck, there was a large queue, I did not even know what it was for. The team were very organised and explained that no transformers would be there, we will have our photo taken with a Transformers backdrop that will be emailed to us.  I hope it arrives soon, it going to make a wonderful souvenir.

I was given my marching orders back to Skylanders as J is determined to have a go of Skylanders swap force.  Yay with a little patience he gets his turn, now playing, liking and not wanting to leave.  Why do little boys get sucked in so fast.  His little brother manages to play too, he's only 3, cant play for toffee and being a caring mommy its only fare I step up to help.  He He I'm so naughty, yes it was me hogging the controller.  The new game is great, I loved the swap factor, interchangeable characters swapping the heads and legs, making new characters.  This is on my Christmas list - Hope you can hear me Santa, I have been good this year. Otherwise the release date is the 18th October available on pre-order with Game

A few pointers I noticed with the new game, if you already have a collection of characters from the  original game and Skylanders Giants they will work in Skylanders swap force so will the portal.  Thats great news you can buy the game and new characters only.  Also your collection of old characters and new ones they will all  have the ability to JUMP! The new game feels and looks so fluid it's much faster, the graphics look brilliant too.

There were lots of stalls selling all sorts, snacks, toys, posters.  We looked and brought posters and bubble guns! Ha ha

There were plenty of activity and music centres, things to get our little munchkins creative and have a bop, shame neither of my sons had any interest. I wanted to decorate the Lollibop Banting with Parentdish. I was also desperate to visit Roald Dahl Museum and Storytelling Center tent. I have most of Roald Dahl books and my sons love listening to me reading to them. I could hear a lady talking about sticking a finger in your nose! haha She had my attention sadly not my sons, they wanted to run about and play.

The WOW Toys were visited a few times by us, very nice play tables they had no horrible queues. Toys without batteries that can play forever, bright and colour, they have a lovely range for all ages, cars, rockets with cute little people.

My youngest, L wanted to play with other kids in the little play houses, I never knew until today how much he enjoyed these play houses.

There was so much going on, so much to see, plenty of characters to look out for and if you saw a crowd of people there was something happening.  A huge audience with Katy Ashworth, dads can cook, a great and fun way to embarrass your old man. Mash them bananas daddy and wiggle that booty! I laughed at that. Congratulations Katy hope baby comes soon.

I was very sad to see Peppa Pig in a fenced area.  There was a show but all the little people wanted photos.  I tried to get L's photo taken and people keep pushing in, its was the only place I saw parents/adults getting irate, which is a shame as their are children everywhere.  In my opinion it was not organised well, I think they should of had a queuing area for photos one at a time.  Little ones LOVE Peppa and there was no George, boo  L said. Who was a dinosaur.

The Shaun the sheep chamionsheeps area was empty when we arrived, I would of love my boys to have a turn but, later in the day the queue was very big and I was personally fed-up with queuing at that point.

As the afternoon wore on I could not believe the time 4.30pm! My mind wanted to stay until the end (so did my boys) however my poor feet were whispering lets go home.

All in all we had a lovely day, my sons had an amazing day.  They were still buzzing with excitement on the tube home.  I had to take away their bubble guns as now being a annoying.

WE very much look forward to next year. I would say it would be better to go with a group of friends as its easier to please everyone.  I bought food there which was not expensive but it was great food.  If I took a picnic we could of eaten it on the meadow and shared it with friends it would had been nicer.

The tickets cost £23.50 person child and adults alike, I actual thought that was over priced, I would say £15 would be more reasonable.

Thanks Lollibop we really enjoyed it, I wish there were more hours in the day.
Fingers crossed I hope to see you next year!
L has not stopped talking about Titan, so cool, bigger then daddy

NSPA has really impressed me. NSPA Brightening Day Cream with SPF15 Review, Brightens up my face!

NSPA sent me a little treat.

The Brightening Day Cream, a light daily protecting moisturiser.
I am extremely fussy when it comes to moisturisers. I get annoyed at paying a high prices for a product that does not do what it says on the tin.

However I am pleasantly surprised with NSPA, the day cream has a lovely consistently to it, its thick but light to the touch. A small amount (a bit bigger then a pea) would be required to completely cover your face (and hands). It absorbs fast, leaving face and hands soft and smooth, flake free for HOURS. 100% None greasy.

My face is clearly fresh looking and radiant (definitely brighter in appearance and not greasy, not that type of shine). Make-up can be applied straight away – no smudges)

Also SPF15 included with will give any user upto 15 hours protection. A SPF15 blocks 93 percent of UVB.

It has a nice subtle fragrance. I really like it and its so affordable at £6 per 50ml a special offer is available at £8 for 2, what a bargain. NSPA are exclusive to ASDA - Online

I’m really keen to try the rest of the range.

The packaging also advises up and outward strokes. Genius!
This is something my mum told me as a young girl. Up and out, same for washing your face and be gentle. The skin is very delicate, especially around the eyes were the skin is thinner. Gentle strokes prevents premature aging. Pulling the skin downwards would increase the skin to sag, great advice.

NSPA Brand is result of years of expertise's. Experts developed products for us to take home and have luxurious personal experience in the comfort of our own home.  The source came from one man's dream, his dream The Nirvana Spa, based in Wokingham, Berkshire, UK. Nirvana Spa is proud of its own underground reservoir of pure spring water, one of only three in the UK.
A visit to Nirvana Spa will leave you feeling revived and refreshed, cleansed and energised.
NSPA products are dermatologically tested and approved for all skin types. Paraben Free.
I give it 10/10 marks super impressed!

This is an unsponsored post, NSPA sent me the day cream as a treat, I wanted to review as I am really impressed!

Balance Me proudly launches at Debenhams this August 2013, My Super moisturising hand cream review

Im a sucker for skin care and not only are these products fantastic but there is a lovely story behind the brand!

In 2005 two British sisters Rebecca and Clare Hopkins founded Balance Me, they left respectable business careers, retrained in the holistic field in their quest for a better work-life.  Still in the early stages Sian Jones joined the sisters as a partner, Sian formerly worked for Marks and Spencers, bringing a wealth of retail and aromatherapy experience to the brand.  Hey presto balance Me is a BORN!

I have this image of girls working in a room, a bit like Roald Dahl Georges Magic medicine, mixing up these wonderful products.

Balance Me has gone from strength to strength, with face, bath & body products. The range can be found in a lot of the leading the high street stores, independent stores and sold online Balance Me

With much delight I am pleased to tell you the full high-performance skincare and body range will be sold at Debenhams Online  from the August 19th

Then available to twenty premium stores before Christmas. Balance Me’s big debut will be on the 23rd  September, with the opening of Debenhams newly refurbished beauty hall at their flagship Oxford Street store.  This is super exciting news.
Over the last few years the brand has enjoyed much success, winning lots of the multi-awards, the products are labeled with % natural origin, all between 98-100% that is very impressive, especially as their PRODUCT PROMISE IS:
No parabens, sulphates, petroleum, mineral oils, silicones, dea, pegs, propylene glycol, artificial fragrances and colours.  Best of all these products are value of money, all at affordable prices.
The packaging looking cheery and has colour coding once you get used to the brand.

So I finally got to sample Balance Me Super moisturising hand cream for myself.  This is a tasty tangy treat for my hands  (arms, legs, feet everywhere really), the cream has a great consistently to it, a small amount (pea size) would be required to completely cover hands. It absorbs fast, leaving hands soft and smooth. None greasy.  Best of all is the fabulous scent; wow it blows my senses away, its has a burst of citrus exploding in the air, which carries for ages.

I'm always washing my hands, being out and about with my sons, walking the dog that type of thing, my hands do feel rough. Over the last few weeks I have been using the cream constantly, my hands remain soft, the appearance of thin lines remain but are faint. I like this is hand cream so so much, I have been taking it everywhere with me. I dont want it to run out.
Come is different sizes
30ml £7.50 - 50ml £10.00 - 100ml £14.50
Definitely deserves a 10/10

I really hope you get to enjoy balance me as much a I have!

Thank you Re-Home Animal Rescue. Rescue a Forever friend.

For every person there's a cat, dog, rabbit needing a home.
Its been a year and 3 months since I've been a dog owner.  I always said when I have house with a garden I would love to own a dog.

Luckily for me after 3 months of moving into my new home, my boyfriend saw a plea on a friends facebook page, a fostered dog needing for a home. I personally never know animals could come from foster carers but it makes sense Battersea Dogs Home can't house all unwanted animals in the UK.

The post came form an organisation ReHome Animal Rescue An UK Cross Posting & Rescuing site Their Moto: United we stand helping ANIMALS in need!

They rescue animals and aim to provide back up and support for ALL animal rescues across the UK. The aim of their group is to cross post rescue animals in the hope of getting them more coverage to find their loving forever homes.  These forever friends have been properly assessed, they're ready for a loving home. If you (or anyone you may know) is looking to adopt a new "forever friend" then please do join them and #SpreadTheWord.

Rescues are welcome to post any animal on this site, please ensure to join for details.

My boyfriend went to meet with the carer and meet with the dog for himself. He came home raving about the dog. He also arranged a home visit with the foster carer.  She would also bring the dog with her.
Having any pet is a massive responsibility, feeding, walkies, cleaning dirty traces just to name a few of the day to day responsibilities. I also have little people running around, I had to be sure we would all get on with each other.

The lovely lady came to our house with the dog a few days later.  He was a lot bigger then his photo showed.  My kids seemed unsure and excited about the idea of having a dog.  I tell no word of a lie, I fell for him. He was puppy, 8 months old but he was long and tall.  He is a Lurcher, Greyhound, Dalmatian cross.

His foster carer explained how he came to her;
His owner went to work, would leave the puppy at home all day. The dog became very disruptive and tore up the owners belongings and her furniture.  I was also told that the dog would be swung around by his paws. The dog was found abandoned and starving, by a relation of the owner and given too the carer.

I'm guessing as a cute little puppy he was adorable but as he got older, larger he wasn't so cute anymore and needed attention all the time.  But in all honestly we have no idea how he was treated or mistreated, I just wanted to love him.

His carer came to see if my home would be suitable and safe, also checking we would be suitable.  Just as a child, this doggy was in her care because he has a past, not a carefree colourful one either.

Lucky for me, I am the very happy owner of the most beautiful dog. He really completed my family.  He is naughty at times and it feels like I have another son, he needs constant attention.  When we first got him he had food problems, he would raid the bread bin, the pans in the kitchen. Snatch food from the kids. His behaviour mostly good but he loved chewing the kids toys, shoes.  He even ripped my sofa to shreds (we only had him for a couple of weeks when this happened).

With time, training and a lot of love he has changed; now he eats almost everything, only eats food given to him, he still can be disruptive but not to the same extent. He will be 2 years old next month and this is normal behaviour for a young dog.

My dog came to my home house trained & when outside he comes back on command, a real bonus.  Also as a rescue dog, he has been neutered, wormed, defleaed, all his vaccines up to date with all his paperwork.

Most of all he makes me smile, he's the happiest dog in the world.

I have wanted to write to post for ages.
Firstly, to say how wonderful it is to be his mum.
Secondly, to advise not all dogs that are in rescue homes/trusts are bad aggressive dogs. Lots have bad owners, mostly someone gets a dog then realises they have to work to maintain the dogs upkeep and can't commit.
Thirdly, thank the organisation for him THANK YOU - He is the BEST!!!

This company runs on donations for vaccinations, neutering, food even the small things like transporting them from A to Z cost, the foster carers do pay a lot from their own pockets.  I'm sure they would be happy for any donations.

Also if you or someone you know wants to be a loving forever friend or you are foster carer needing help please take a look it the page.

First out of the box the Soft Oaty Bars. These are a great healthy snack, inbetween meals or as part of my sons pack lunch.  Being honest I absolutely loves these (that's right ME!!).  They are packed full of flavour, not too chewy and really filling for little tummies, they smells really fruity too. My youngest would eat an entire box if possible.
These bar contain a blend of organic wholegrain oats, raisins, organic fruit juices 100% NO JUNK

These are awesome. My youngest son is a big fan of the new flavours, I have been packing them in his pack lunch and he has been reminding me to keep one in my bag for outings.  Best of all they are packed with fruit. Great for thirsty little people and can be eaten everywhere, no mess, no spoons, sucked straight out of the packet.

Number Jumble Cereal
